Katrina agrees that it's terrible to see an animal suffering. One year ago, her young cat Agneta had a nasty time with roundworm, and she doesn't want to risk a repeat of that experience. "I want to do everything I can to ensure that my cat has a carefree life."
Parasites can be a problem for cats, particularly cats living in the countryside. Unfortunately, this was the case for Katrina's cat Agneta one year ago. The young animal suffered from a roundworm, a parasite which is difficult to avoid.
"Luckily our beloved cat has got over it now thanks to the right medicine and a thorough clean of her bed and favourite hang-out spots around the house." Katrina researched the subject thoroughly. "Some parasites can cause illness or serious discomfort for people as well as animals."
It's really important to try to prevent parasites, which is why Katrina gives her cat a pipette full of anti-parasitic medicine every five weeks. "I also check her coat for signs of external parasites and I look out for any symptoms of internal ones. Thank goodness it only happened once, for her sake as well as ours."
