There’s going to be a huge surprise for rabbit Klaas and hamster Corneel today. 12-year-old Carina has used the money given to her by her family for her first communion for something rather special…
Carina describes herself as a true animal lover. Before she could even read she would spend hours leafing through children’s flora and fauna encyclopaedias. Today, 12-year-old Carina is the proud owner of rabbit Klaas and Hamster Corneel, an adorable cuddly duo.
“We get quite a lot of homework at school” says Carina, “but I spend every free minute I have on my animals. Cleaning their cage, giving them fresh food and water, cuddling them and taking care of them”. But she was a little concerned that the animals might be bored while she was at school.
Instead of buying something for herself, Carina used the money she received for her first communion to buy some new things for Klaas and Corneel: anew rabbit cage, a hutch, lots of toys and new houses and even a fun hamster ball. The lucky animals saw all this for the very first time this morning!
